There are numerous human resources job opportunities available today. The field includes human resource and training specialists and labor relations managers and specialists. In 2008 there were over 900,000 human resources jobs in the United States alone. These jobs included human resources, training and labor relations specialists, compensation, benefits and job analysis specialists, employment, recruitment and placement specialists and training and development specialists. Almost every industry employs people specializing in human resources, training and labor relations because this field is essential for the welfare and success of the company. Some managers and specialists actually are self-employed and work as consultants to private and public employers. Most of the human resources jobs are held by specialists in the private sector in administrative, professional, healthcare, insurance and manufacturing organizations. Even the federal government employs human resources managers and specialists to oversee employee relations. These specialists handle recruitment, interviewing, job classification, training, salary, administration, benefits, employee relations and other human resources functions for state and federal employees. The field of human resources is expected to grow faster than other occupations in the future. Of course, the best jobs will be available for college graduates who have taken the time to become HR certified.
